How Auto works

Auto reduces manual testing of locations, but its behaviour depends on the client and the selected group.

01

Selection from a configured group

In compatible client configurations, Auto checks availability and selects a route from a configured group. Germany and the Netherlands come first in the priority list.

Overseas Auto and ACN Auto are different groups. Not every individual country participates in automatic selection. Being in the catalogue does not mean a country belongs to every Auto group.

02

A check is not an instant handover

Background checks in ACN client configurations use a 15-minute interval to reduce unnecessary load. Availability checks and failover do not mean every location is measured continuously every second.

If your connection drops, update your subscription, reconnect or choose a country manually. Do not expect an established connection to move seamlessly to another server.

03

When to choose a country manually

An individual location is more convenient when you need a consistent country, want to check a particular service or need to troubleshoot. Some clients deliberately receive no Auto options.

Russian locations and special Allowlist routes are excluded from the general overseas Auto groups. Some distant locations are available only as individual choices. Update your subscription to see the current selection.
